Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA)?

What is a dependent care flexible spending account (DCFSA)?

A dependent care FSA lets memembers set aside money from their paycheck on a pretrax basis to use for eligible out-of-pocket expenses. Members can use this FSA to pay for eligible child and adult care expences like day care, before and after school care, nursery school, preschool, and summer day camp.

How much can I contribute to my dependent care FSA?

Generally, the maximum amount that may be contributed to the Dependent Care FSA is $5,000 and detemined on a calendar year basis.

Amounts contributed to the Dependent Care FSA are subject to the "use or lose" rule. This means any unused contributions remaining at the end of the plan year are lost, unless the plan includes a grace period (which provides up to 2.5 months to access unused contributions following the end of the plan year). Review your plan documents to understand whether a grace period is available.

Voluntary Benefits

Why Supplemental Protection?

If Supplemental Insurance sounds like extra insurance to you, you're right. Why would you want more insurance? Simple-- Your primary health insurance, covers only some of the costs you would face with an injury, illness, hospital stay or worse. Many costs related to injuries or illnesses are not medical.

Things like:

  • loss of income from not being able to work
  • everyday expenses like mortgage/rent, car payments, childcare, even food and utilities
  • travel and lodging expenses while seeking care
  • unpaid/not covered medical bills - co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance percentage

Supplemental insurance serves as a financial safety net, providing cash benefits paid directly to you for unexpected emergencies.

Lincoln is the marketing name used to refer to subsidiaries of Lincoln Limited providing insurance services. The supplemental products offered are underwritten by Combined Insurance Company of America and ACE American Insurance.
